This was initially posted as a rantish thingbit on the MegaTokyo Forums. I feel I put alot of pieces of thought into this and that I should maybe keep track of it myself.
I wonder though... she's for entertainment... in a style of story built often enough OF disappointment and tragedy. While she could become highly down trodden... she can probably equally be picked back up out of that state by a new person coming to her emotional aid. Though I know that sounds both good and bad: Good - She'll always have the opportunity for Happiness. Bad - She's not a game you just let your friend borrow for a week like some latest greatest RPG. (or in this case Dating Sim `.`) ... it's probably slightly the intention of the division that brought her about. I'm not saying they plan on them being thrown out... or just bought for a few years and returned to the factory, but maybe more "Satoshi-bou, I want you to met Aya-chan. I know you don't have many friends... but she's been my friend for years and I'm hoping she can be yours." A Sort of Living Generational game designed to make humanity more at ease with the artificial or something. Or even always questing for that Perfect person to help out and be more real themselves by sharing some of their realness with this new friend. (Man I've covered alot of Ideas at once `.`) But the point I was trying to cover is maybe she was intended to move from person to person at the Teen Level. Being that friend when needed, since it's such an unfun time with all the stresses of the mind and society. Agelocked, but able to experience so much and even have that near eternal youth that so many crave. And to help so many. But most likely it's just another way to make a buck... and they probably "factory recall" them with bologna about defects... only to reset them and send them where they don't think they'll be recognized after some hardware and bios updates so that they can continue the cashflow. And the boy's and girls now deprived have that tragic end of their highschool romance/perfect friendship and go on in life to becoem the cube workers of tomorrow never having fun again. Well until Sony designs the older models to be Secretaries, Nannies and elite combat forces to destroy the Kelg Armada when they try to take over the earth in 2025. Or something u.u Who knows though... they could be planning constant updates to software or hardware: Your High School date interest becomes your cute young room mate who helps you get that darned Fitsimmons report done and picks up a few things for you. OR for those who have trouble with real people enough... upgrades so that you can continue playing games with life up to the old mid-life crisis. Though the damage to hospitals might get up there "Why don't you listen to ME?! I said (he/she/they) has(/have) a (long name for a problem that requires a doctor) or I wouldn't have leapt over half the city to bring (him/her/them) here! Make (him/her/them) better! *wall crunch* Oops sorry." "That's our special crumple wall... ah you must be a new model... poor wall. Anyway we believe you just fine... it's hospital procedure... and see? The doctor's taken them on now. Please don't break anything else ^.^;;" Did I ever reach my point? Anyway... LAST ALTERNATIVE... the reset might only be if there's a true perceived problem... a BIOS update fails and rather than call in the SWAT team a special unit goes in with the data backup -why not have one they're monitoring everything for Ping I bet just live people on the more actively percievable stuff- and the map to the reset switch. It could be morbid it could be just a safeguard. It could even be both  but until we know... we don't ^^ As is sickeningly obvious I need to go write something so I can stop forum rambling. Gah... overclocked myself too :hot:
