Everyone has their little ideas for things. Everyone wants to contribute
something that makes others go wow and whee and that's cool gimme more!

Then you have someone like me. Who just wants to make something from time to
time but has the annoying fate that he can't make anything unique... and doesn't
care if anyone else enjoys it.

He just likes to inflict things on people to fuel his ego.

This is such a work.

This is a work of mecha fiction borrowing elements from Escaflowne, Gundam,
Dual, and Zone of the Enders. It's not meant to seem like an original work in
the slightest. If it somehow does... be stunned it wasn't meant to.

I like games&shows that showcase "A Person and their Item." Examples range from
Blastermaster to Crystalis to Gundam Wing to Dual. The protagonist has some
special bond with their item be it a sword, a mecha, their pet with
superpowers... whatever. If conflict wasn't there the protagonist wouldn't so
much as move most likely due to just being happy to be with their item. So far
as they are concerned the universe is at peace. Even if it's for only say the
brief moment when Kasuki is taking Hard Zena into the air with this gleeful look
on his face... or Duo Maxwell annihilating Oz mecha like they are butter. Or for
a more braod example of Mecha glee there's Riona and Bonaparte in New Dominion
Tank Police, or Alphonse and it's Operator in the various Patlabor series.

There's some mystical farfgnugen going on that no one can explain and
everyone around them looks at them like they're psycho. And yet when somthing
above and beyond is needed done... somehow some way they get it accomplished. Or
not. The bond is what matters really. That to the protagonist the item in
question is more 1) An Extension of themselves OR 2) Alive on some level that
Should Not Be OR MAYBE 3) They have a kinship that just can't be explained.

They are the naturals... the talented everyday person down the street. Whatever
they do and whoever they are they either have or WILL have a special bond with
something that most don't HAVE special bonds with.

This is a preambly thingy about such a being... and the mecha he would build.

                                     A Work of Mecha Fiction

It's harder these days to recall just when my adventures began. I know Operators
who claim their adventures started before they were even borne. There's a guy in
the unit who didn't even know anything existed outside the planet he came from.

It's a wide berth to land in but I fit in there. Somewhere in there. Not just
smack in the middle. I don't know enough about anything to say that at all.

My GUESS is it began at that carnival all those years ago. Wait! Hold that. If I
aimed in combat that badly I'd be dead. It was just a few days before I got that
flyer...

IN THE MISTS OF DAYS GONE PASSED

"Rory... you'll be late for school! Get off your duff this instant!" called
Rory's mother Laurie. She glared down the hallway and up the stairs now as she
called once again,"Rory Glassinger! Move out, soldier."

It was a calculated attack. Rory's father yearned to have his boy attend the
Military Academy he had in his youth. Rory was down and dressed in 4 minutes...
impossible had he not disobeyed the rule on sliding down the banister.

					 OR
				Things I don't wanna find
a way to worm into the text
				  but you should know

Laurie Glassinger: Rory's mother. Former Artillarist. Dragged Kyle to safety
during a sabotage laden fiasco that happened during a meeting of brass, and
showing off of military technology. It was her idea to get married in a
hospital.

Kyle Glassinger: Former "Chief Grunt Herder" for the 6th Armored Rangers. Owed
his life to Laurie and asked to marry HER and take her name less than 3 weeks
out of the hospital. Laurie's tour ended some 3 weeks later when she almost
lost an arm when her mech exploded do to a jam of the projectile while loading.

Rory Glassinger: "I'll be 15 in 4 weeks!" and "Whoa cool ArmOr!" are things
you're most likely to hear exit his tonsils. His hair is unmanagable... BUT
maintains itself in it's current configuration so he's actually been given leave
by The Dormitory to not have to attempt to break that delicate genetically
dictated balance.

Physicals- He's 5'3.561" and 85 pounds... his friends joke he's lying
when he says he's almost 15. Fortunately what nature has stripped from
his body... it has given to his mind. The only subject he has trouble
with is... Phys Ed. But that's a given sadly. Sandy blonde hair... that
yes IS dirty looking enough to make you think he does ostrich
impressions. He doesn't tan he burns and BOY does he pEEl. Nature saw
fit to make sure he grew out of his freckles. His eyebrows are growing
back nicely from last year's science fair.

Mentals- IQ of about 120 on a average day... with spikes to about 135.
Teachers hate him for it. He's aced assignments one day and floundered
the next only to finish in 5 minutes before it's due because he has
another logic leap. After 2 leaps his brain seems to FINALLY retain. He
lost his eyebrows last year because his project was built on an
upswing... and presented before the next leap. He had his "leap" four
seconds too late and lost his eyebrows to show for it. He still
maintained his 6 years running domination of the fair... but doesn't
wanna enter this year's fair at all. The Glassingers say it's because
he finally wants to let someone else win. The reality is... it's not
	sparking his interest anymore.
