Ami smirks. "Well," she adds, "Ego won't be here again... and no he's not
in the other version hiding out."


Our story truly begins again...      Chapter Five

Eldrick fumbled with the door... visions of self hate slipping out of his
mind as the blood flow directed itself elsewhere. "But Ami really... I
was typing... and my self hate period is vanishing..."

"Shhh... don't talk... unless you'd really rather not... I mean I can
always go take a show..." trails off as she's swept away by a kiss.

"I've been thinking about you so much... but didn't wanna approach you
incase you didn't want to... I don't want you to say yes just because I
want to," said nibbling on her earlobe... quietly... softly...

She holds him away for a minute, "When I don't want to I'm not in the
house," she smiles as she walks around him turning him about as well and
sits herself on the bed.

"So that means... yaaa!" his speech is cut off as she rips open her blouse
and places his face between her breasts with a light gasp of her own.

He seems to lose all thought as he breathes in her scent... the softness
of her skin on his tongue... he couldn't take it... his tongue snakes along

Meanwhile she was all but ripping his clothes off... frantic for bare skin
to run her hands over... then the shirt was off, and she slipped his belt
off... he paused then and looked up at her... a hungry leer upon his face

Lights flare up... they find themselves still on their bed... but it has obviously
been transported somewhere... perhaps by spell...

"Who are you... and where have you brought us?!" calls Eldrick out... searching for
where the voice could have come from in the smooth walled... cylinder they were at
the bottom of.

"FORGOTTEN ME SO EASILY HAVE YOU?" the tone of the voice was slick with humor.

"Lossoth..." both Ami and Eldrick say at the same time.

"Oh... how sweet... choral speaking... AWW HOW CUTE. NEVERTHELESS YOU ARE MY
PRISONERS NOW... THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM MY DOMAIN! YOU ARE mine FOREVER."

"We will not be held by one such as you, Vile Lossoth," spat Ami as she reached out
her left hand... her staff appearing... she stands next to the bed holding it in
both hands. In a simple bright flash... she is clothed in her fuku... clothed for
combat. She whirls the staff and taps it to a halt... thunder seems to resound.
"Show yourself coward! Thy defeat is near!"

"Cute is she not when she's angry," says Lossoth in Eldrick's mind, "Too bad I will
have to destroy her. Such a sweet sweet shame you both must be destroyed. I had such
great plans for both of you..." Lossoth's lecherous laugh echoes.

"NEVER WILL WE BE YOUR PAWNS!!!!!" Eldrick screams leaping straight up off the bed...
his sword appears above him... he grabs it and the air in the room rushes towards him
for just a second... and he is clad in cloth of cerulean blue. Black cape and bracers
appear upon him. He lands on the ground and boots appear on his feet. His combat
stance shows him ready for anything.

"Show yourself demon! We are ready for you!" announces Ami.

"READY? WHAT DO YOU KNOW OF IT... HAVE YOU TAKEN THE LONG VIEW... HAVE YOU EXAMINED
ALL POSSIBILITIES? HOW CAN YOU BE READY FOR ANYTHING??!" Lossoth says dismissively.

"LIGHT AND SHADOW COLLIDE AND JOIN ME! BE MY HENCHMEN!! Thug Summon!!!" Golden
skinned warriors in jet black armor appear suddenly... a rank thick... circling them
and the bed.

"SUBDUE THEM..." Lossoth appeared then as the walls lit in fire, and burned away in
an instant leaving a cage with a white stone floor suspended over a river of fire, "I
STILL HAVE PLANS FOR THEM... OH YES... SUCH WONDERFUL PLANS." He leered at them as he
rose into the air on a pillar of white marble.

As one the 15 warriors drew kriss blades detailed in flames. 2 of them fall quickly
as Eldrick waves at them... swirling winds like razors cuts them to ribbons. Ami
vaults off her planted staff planting a heel in one warrior's eye, using him as a
platform she leaps off him burying the tip of her staff in his chest. She pulls it
out gracefully.

One of the Warriors stabs himself in the heart... and the other warriors kriss blades
extend into swords. "WONDERFUL SPELL ISN'T IT... SPENT 2 YEARS RESEARCHING IT." calls
down Lossoth watching the battle from his lofty position.

A few warriors rush Eldrick and Ami separating them and crashing into the bed.

Mindlessly they hack at the bed before Lossoth barks something in an odd language and
they whirl around to find Eldrick right there slicing the middle one from chin to
navel. Its armor spreading away from the currently glowing blade. The 2 warriors left
stab forward he leans back blade vertical. They bring their blades up and around
striking at his waist... he leaps back and as the air rushes towards him suddenly
pushing him back their swords pass through where his waist was... and their momentum
carries the blades into each other's waist chopping them in half...

While all that was happening...

Ami rushes her own triad, leaping and tumbling and caving in the skull of one
warrior, before spinning around and cracking the staff into the neck of another,
leaping over the staff as it tentatively rests in the warrior's neck she kicks the
third with her left heel. The warrior grabs the staff buried in his neck and wrenches
it upwards. She hangs on though and slides down when he has it straight up... spiking
him with her heels, and leaping taking the staff with her.

Eldrick lands from his Air Jump just a foot from where Ami comes down. They glare at
the remaining four... which are now in a group.

"ONLY FOUR LEFT... MUST DO SOMETHING," he waves an arm and 2 of the remaining 4 kill
themselves... the remaining 2 become black of skin and their armor flares golden
colors reversing.

"Didn't think you'd make it this far... but you'll go no further. KILL THEM!!"
Lossoth commands and points. As one the Warriors nod, then break off running.
Eldrick stands fast and Ami rushes to flank... but the one on her side turns and
jumps... landing behind her in a blink. She whirls around bringing up her staff
just in time to avoid most of a blow... the top of her fuku split down the middle
but the strike ended before it would have ended in the thrust that was obviously
planned. She pauses to frown at the warrior and pat her stomach checking for wounds.
It takes the opportunity to yank hard on his sword... catching her staff and
propelling her over his head.

She tumbles on the landing to break her fall staff horizontal. She rolls to standing.
"Eldrick," she calls, "These guys are much smarter."

"I'd only just noticed myself," he answers during the war of position him and the
other warrior are having... swords clash... fighters move... clash... move... clash
move.

She nods and sees the Warrior she's fighting leap into the air again looking like he
plans on a flying slash... she predicts his position and throws her staff like a
javelin... it glows green and speeds up... ripping through the warrior like butter.

It lands on the other side of Eldrick and his foe... driven into the stone floor of
the cage.

The sword fight shifts around till it ends up... next to the staff and as a low slash
from the Warrior knocks against it, Eldrick repositions, leaping and spinning... the
Warrior bring his sword up to block with the flat of the blade, as Eldrick connects
screaming. His sword rips through the Warrior's neck and breaks the kriss sword.

Eldrick lands panting. Ami walks over smiling and together they try to pull out her
staff... only to feel the cage shake as something big takes a step. They look over
to see 2 ten foot tall Warriors with large mallets. One Warrior of Black... of
Shadow. One Warrior of Gold... of Light.

"THESE YOU WILL LOSE TO. THEY ARE FAR MORE POWERFUL, AND FAR STRONGER THAN THE
PREVIOUS. NOW... 'YOU WILL DIE' I love that line... AHEM... KILL THEM."

They don't move.

"I SAID KILL THEM!!!"

They turn to face Lossoth.

"WELL??? KILL THEM!!!! I COMMAND IT!!!" Lossoth screamed... face flushed red in
outrage that they did not obey.

The Shadow shook it's head and growling rushed the column.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOT ME!!!"

"I think... you've upset them... they are pure shadow and pure light... and are
probably polarized to good and evil... and you are trying to force them to do thy
bidding," started Eldrick.

"I'd imagine Evil hates being given orders... hence why it is attacking you, and
Good won't listen to a being tainted by evil..." finished Ami.

The column toppled... and Shadow growled with glee and rushed to stomp on Lossoth.
Light rushed over and blocked Shadow... arms spread.

"Hmm not just good and evil but compassion and revenge." Eldrick just nodded to what
Ami said. Personally afraid to move. Lest one or the other find something in him to
want to attack.

Ami felt about the same but kept it a bit lower... she didn't know if surface
thoughts might be a problem too.

Shadow moved. It grabbed Light by the neck...

And the most fascinating thing happened... they canceled each other out. Leaving
nothing behind.

Lossoth looked up, and then did some movement that was obviously magical.

The floor shifted... Lossoth disappeared... they dove for the staff... hoping there
was some kind of a hinge.

                                       And there was.

The flames below roared tripling their height... and that lecherous laugh was heard.

"I wonder how long you can hang on... not long I'd imagine... HAHAHA YOU WILL DIE...
just as I planned!"

They hung there for a while... renewing grips.

"When we make it out of here Eldrick... remind me to buy a new fuku top."

He looked... and grinned, "No problem." He slowly moved an arm down to pull the top
closed. She smiled at him. He smiled... and suddenly there was a carrot in his hand.

"What the heck?"

"Where'd you get that Eldrick?"

"I don't know... it just appeared."

"Ego was telling me he'd seen you making carrots before... that they'd just appear...
you were always handing them to cabbits."

"Be nice if we had one now huh Ami?"

"Well while we are hanging here... think you could make another? I'm a bit hungry."

"Um I'll tr..." the carrot appeared "I barely thought about it and poof a carrot,"
another appeared that fell into the fire below. "Well here... lemme feed this to you
before I drop it." He smiled and she took a bite.

Soon the carrot was gone. He made one for himself. "It looks funny watching you do
that," she giggled.

"Mind in the gutter."

"Yours is," she chided.

"True true... wonder if I can make a rocket carrot or something," he said as he
motioned his hand out over the fire. A carrot as big as the shuttle appeared and
fell into the fires below... but it was just a normal carrot.

                                It was a mistake.

The rising steam slicked up the staff... and they fell. He manipulated the air into
a bubble and they stopped falling.

"You saved us!"

"For now... the air is too hot to seal the bubble. So we'll hang here till I lose
concentration totally."

"Gives us time to figure something else out... any way to get this thing to float up?
I think I can barely see the sky way up there."

"Well it is basically riding the heat from the fires below... I seriously doubt
Lossoth is gonna help by raising the fire level."

"Maybe if you drop a lot of large carrots?"

"Maybe... it might work... there's something to hang onto. Something to hope for."

"Yes... Hope..." she kissed him and hugged onto him... while he shrank the bubble a
bit so that he could concentrate on really large carrots.

Steam... lots of it... just barely not penetrating the bubble... the bubble shot up
with each carrot tossed into the fire.

"YOU SHALL NOT GET AWAY! YOU CAN'T DO YOUR FIRE TRICK WITHOUT A FIRE!!!"

The fire snuffed instantly... they dropped like a rock. The bubble shredded with the
speed. They clutched each other.

"Maybe... some of the carrots are mushy enough from all the steam that we'll land
alright... gotta have hope right?"

"Yeah Ami... gotta Hope for it."

They passed out from the fall.

                                 Later...

They were in the guest room at their house. Eldrick stirred next to her.

"Eldrick are you okay?"

"Yeah... but I snapped a rib on something. Ow... and I'm tapped out of magic
currently..."

"If I only had my," she looked around the room... and there it was leaned in the
corner by the door, "staff..."

"Maybe that's what I hit..."

"Probably... lemme get on that spell for you," she slid out of the bed... barely
noticing that she was naked. She got the staff and raised it over her head...
magic glowed around her, and she casts the spell. Eldrick whined about it hurting
like all get out. She smiled at him and then came over to kiss the wound to make
it better.

"When did we take off our clothes, Ami?"

"Where ARE our clothes."

"They are in the laundry... I took the liberty," said a soft lilting voice by the
door.

"Hope is that you?" asked Ami.

"Yes. Sorry I couldn't come sooner... I had my own troubles... Lossoth had planned
well."

Hope's voice wavered a bit, "I'll see you both some other time." She could be heard
walking away.

"Nice to meet you, Lady Hope," called Eldrick. Hope's step increased... she was
running down the steps now. Ami watched her from the doorway. She shakes her head
sadly. "Something wrong honey?"

"Hope really envies us... she doesn't have so much as a minute off for a
relationship... but she hopes one day she'll be able to relax just a little bit...
be able to have a life besides the vigil," Ami sighed.

"That's terrible... I understand why she ran now. You mean she has NO free time?"

"Maybe a day every year... I don't think she's taken this year's yet."

"Well when she does I hope she enjoys every minute of it."

"Oh yeah? You think she sounds sexy eh? Well?"

"A bit... I suppose..."

"Well we'll have to purge these thoughts out of your mind hornyboy," she
smiled at him slinking up the bed to him.
