They stood before Won Toh's Chinese Buffet. Ami Kintaro was in awe at the size
of the place. An authentic building had been constructed according to
Traditional Chinese architecture all the way up to the pagoda... missing not one
detail.

"Come on," Eldrick said and lead her inside. She followed her soul feeling made
of lead.

"What's the occasion again?" She asked as she picked up her pace at the smell of
the food within.

"We've been together 2 weeks... and I thought I should do this. Do you not want
to come here?"

"Oh this is as good a place as any... Let's have at the food." She smiled... it
was false. She was scared to death. .o0(What if... we are here to... No that
can't be it... but...)0o. She was snapped out of it when Won Toh stepped from
behind a bamboo panel and lead them himself to a table.

"Our waiters and waitresses await your whims good patrons. Eat Well," and he
bowed away from the table and went back to the entrance.

"He does this... bring people to tables like a waiter?"

"If requested yes. And he's a nice old man... he started as only a waiter and
now look... this is a better place than the one he worked for *quieter* and I
hear the food is superior. Although I have never been to his previous employer's
establishment, I have been here a few times. Closed a deal here once."

The Waiter arrived -early considering the crowd, which made her more upset,"And
what would you like to drink?"

"Ladies first."

"Okay... what would you like to drink miss?"

She put on her best face,"I'll have orange juice and water."

"Very good choice... we just squeezed a new batch. And you sir?"

"The same."

"Very good sir, the buffet awaits you," he said bowing and moving off to deliver
the table's drink order ticket.

"Want me to "shop" for you as usual or you wanna pick and choose yourself."

"Well I might as well get used to "shopping" myself."

Eldrick blinked but soon caught up to her. .o(Should I have waited another week
or something? Is something she wanted to watch on TV on? Did she have activities
planned? Oh I hope I didn't ruin anything.)o.

They picked food in near silence... he occasionally said what it was she pointed
at but otherwise both were far too uncomfortable with their false smiles and
happy unfelt tones.

.o(She's sick of me ordering her around like a soulless fuck-bot. She wants her
own life away from Eldrick the Creator who's just a dick with a body attached
anyway. I've never been with a woman before her... and now that I've been with
her I can't help but want to be with her all the time... is this love or lust...
she probably thinks it's lust and wants no more to do with me.)o.

.o0(He's sick of me acting like the only thing I can do is giggle jiggle and
screw... but I can't help it... it's where I came from... I don't remember most
of it thank the gods but... but I love every minute I'm with him... is it so
wrong? HE's sick and tired of me... I know it...)0o.

They sigh as they reach the table, and look at the other guardedly. "My I
thought we were going to be in that line forever" they say at the same time.
They giggles and laugh then... and then the walls fly back up.

A few minutes later they still haven't started eating. Occasionally an "After
you." tirade breaks out with no winner. Finally Ami said,"I want you to be
happy... that is all that I want... if the meal is to be our last ever... then I
won't spoil it by begging you to take me back... I'll leave peacefully... saying
something to the effect that I'm going to the bathroom..."

He sat there shocked for a few minutes... she asked,"I'm right aren't I, and you
are shocked I guessed."

He whipped around the table bouncing his chair back behind him, she stood
worried something was wrong, and he buried his face her neck. He cried unable to
speak for a few minutes... and so did she worried with all her heart that this
was their last embrace... that he was about to spill it to her... {I'm so
sorry... I know how much this must hurt you... but we really are no good for
each other...}

"I was so... worried... that you were tired of me... that the "honeymoon" was
over and you were tired of me," he cried into her neck. Hearing those words she
clutched him tighter too her,"I thought... my near constant desire was sickening
you... making you think I only let you stay around was because of sex. That all
I was was some sex starved freak who wanted a woman for sex only."

"Shhh... shhh... there there Eldrick... I feel the same way. All I have been
doing since I arrived was advance on you... I though you didn't like me... and I
so wanted to be liked. I was so worried when you announced this that it was all
over... that you'd tell me everything was out of mercy. You'd created me, found
me... whatever... and were only "in love" with me out of kindness... but that'd
worn thin."

"I would never leave you... you are the only person who ever saw value in me
that I believed," they said at the same time... and then the tears lessening a
bit... they kissed.

They woke up the next morning in the same bed which was new... with "doggy bag"
boxes all around them from Won Toh's Buffet, and food stains all over each
other's body.

"We need showers..."

"You go first Eld..."

"No you go first."

They laughed.

"Let's take one together Ami."

"I'll get the towels," she smiled and laughed.

Eldrick led her then to the shower stall and turned the hot water on... mixed
cold in till it was just right and as one they stepped into the spray.


They of course fell lovingly upon one another... but that's another story.
